Sustainability & Impact Manager
The Synergy Company | Moab, Utah
Salary: $74,322–$107,023 annually, depending on qualifications
Schedule: Monday–Friday | On-site or Hybrid (more than 50% on-site in Moab)
Help Us Turn Purpose Into Meaningful Impact
At The Synergy Company, our commitment to people, communities, and the planet is more than a statement of values. It's an essential part of who we are and how we do business.
We're looking for a Sustainability & Impact Manager who shares that commitment and has the experience, initiative, and collaborative spirit to help us take our sustainability and social impact efforts to the next level.
We've already built a strong foundation. Now we're looking for someone who can help us build on it—strengthening existing programs, turning ideas into action, measuring progress, and helping others understand the difference our work makes.
Working closely with our Head of Organizational Stewardship, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate across the company, engage with community partners, and help shape how sustainability and social responsibility contribute to our long-term success.
This is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, bringing people together, solving problems, and seeing meaningful projects through to completion.
What You'll Do
Drive our sustainability initiatives forward. Coordinate and manage sustainability and social impact programs, establish measurable goals, track progress, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Maintain and strengthen our certifications. Lead the coordination, documentation, and reporting needed to maintain certifications such as B Corp, The Climate Label, and TRUE Zero Waste, while supporting regulatory compliance and responsible business practices.
Collaborate across the company. Partner with sourcing, supply chain, operations, and other teams to integrate sustainability principles into everyday processes and decisions.
Strengthen our community relationships. Support social impact initiatives and build meaningful connections with partners in Moab, our sourcing communities, and other communities important to Synergy.
Engage and educate employees. Help colleagues understand our sustainability commitments and find practical ways to contribute to our shared goals.
Tell our impact story. Translate data, initiatives, and accomplishments into clear, credible, and compelling communications for employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
Keep the work organized and accountable. Manage projects, budgets, data, reporting, and documentation while helping ensure our commitments translate into tangible results.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a proactive, thoughtful, and capable professional who can balance big-picture thinking with the practical work of getting things done.
Our ideal candidate brings:
Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in sustainability, social impact, corporate social responsibility, ESG, or a related field.
A solid understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, certifications, and responsible business practices.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and move initiatives forward independently.
Analytical and technical capabilities, including the ability to work with data, measure outcomes, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex topics understandable and engaging.
A collaborative approach and the ability to build relationships, encourage participation, and influence others across different teams and backgrounds.
Confidence presenting information, facilitating discussions, and working with internal and external stakeholders.
A strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience in dietary supplements, herbs and botanicals, or the natural products industry is a plus, but not required. We value transferable experience and are particularly interested in candidates who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
