Our client is a venture-backed FinTech company on a mission to modernize how consumers interact with their financial lives through innovative software, automation, and AI-driven experiences.

As they continue to scale, they are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to play a key role in designing and building the core systems that power their platform. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions while helping establish best practices across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and scale backend services using Python and FastAPI/Flask.
• Own features end-to-end, from architecture and development to deployment and monitoring.
• Build APIs, integrations, and data pipelines that serve mission-critical workflows.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability as our user base grows.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Leadership to turn ideas into shipped features.
• Mentor other engineers and help establish engineering best practices.
• Leverage modern AI development tools and workflows to increase velocity and quality.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Startup experience with growth stage company.
• Strong Python expertise and experience designing scalable backend architectures.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and modern cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, queues, and messaging technologies.
• Strong ownership mindset and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment.

Bonus Points

• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Airflow.
• Experience building AI-powered products, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows.
• Startup experience scaling products from early-stage to growth-stage.
• Active user of tools like Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
