Job Title: Network Engineer
Clearance Required: DHS Public Trust EOD, US Citizen (Secret Clearance or above preferred)
Work Location: Hybrid; onsite 2 times a week in Arlington, VA (applicant must be based within a commutable distance (1-2 hours) within the National Capital Region)
The Network Engineer serves as a multi‑discipline IT professional with a primary focus on network administration and multi‑platform environments. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and support secure, resilient network infrastructures across on‑premises, virtualized, and cloud deployments.
Responsibilities
The likely salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.

Job Title: Network Engineer

The Network Engineer serves as a multi‑discipline IT professional with a primary focus on network administration and multi‑platform environments. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and support secure, resilient network infrastructures across on‑premises, virtualized, and cloud deployments.
Responsibilities
- Design network pathways that can sustain operational network data spikes.
- Implement quality of service policies and bandwidth throttling to ensure uploads do not interfere with mission-critical applications.
- Design Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) architecture to support high-speed data transmissions.
- Ensure the network architecture complies with governmental standards.
- Maintain end-to-end encryption for data in transit.
- Manage firewalls, zero-trust network access, and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) segmentation to ensure system traffic is isolated to prevent unauthorized access or malware spread.
- Configure and maintain network switches.
- Design and manage high-density Wi-Fi networks to ensure secure connections.
- Manage and secure dedicated circuits and internet gateways routing traffic.
- Utilize network monitoring to track bandwidth utilization, port status, and overall network health.
- Collaborate with vendors and ISPs to troubleshoot complex routing issues, plan for system upgrades, and integrate new hardware.
- 10+ years of professional IT experience.
- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist or equivalent professional networking certification; Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional preferred.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls in on‑premises, virtualized, and cloud network environments.
- Experience supporting and securing edge/IoT network devices and enterprise networks.
- Experience with datacenter cross‑connects and interconnects (e.g., carrier meets, cloud on‑ramps, and data‑center peering).
- Experience with Mist and/or Meraki networking solutions.
- Experience with cellular private networks.
- Experience designing or supporting Azure cloud networking solutions.
- Experience with hyperconverged networking.
- Experience with Azure Local deployments.
- Storage administration experience, including tape‑based storage.
- Experience with identity management (e.g., directory services, authentication/authorization integration).
- Experience participating in or supporting incident response activities.
