Environmental Data Product Manager

The Role

Enterprise Sustainability is looking for an Environmental Data & Regulatory Product Manager to serve as the team's go-to expert on GHG accounting and climate-related regulatory requirements and own the day-to-day administration of our greenhouse gas inventory platform. This role sits at the center of our climate data infrastructure. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate emissions data, administering our platform, and supporting our team’s efforts to meet evolving regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own corporate climate reporting portfolio (Climate Transition, TCFD Reporting, and portions of corporate sustainability reporting).
• Work with stakeholders across the firm to ensure quarterly GHG emissions data uploads, develop and maintain sustainability scorecards, dashboards, reporting tools, and performance metrics that support informed decision-making and measure progress against our net zero goals.
• Support Scope 3 emissions expansion, including coordination with the ACOE (Center of Excellence) on automation opportunities.
• Working with our legal and finance teams, track and interpret climate-related regulatory requirements (CA SB253/261, EU CSRD, TCFD/ISSB) and flag implications for the team's reporting obligations.
• Support regulatory, voluntary, and customer sustainability reporting requirements while strengthening governance processes, data quality, and organizational accountability.
• Serve as the power user and central administrator for Salesforce’s Agentforce Net Zero. Manage users, troubleshoot platform issues, coordinate with the Corporate Systems team on releases and enhancements, and explore further platform capabilities.
• Support sustainability initiatives and programs that advance Morningstar’s business and sustainability goals.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in sustainability, ESG data/reporting, environmental compliance, or a related analytical role
• Familiarity with GHG accounting and emissions data (Scope 1/2/3); familiarity with the GHG Protocol
• Experience with Salesforce Agentforce Net Zero or a comparable ESG/carbon accounting platform strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of climate-related disclosure regulations (CA SB253/261, CSRD, TCFD/ISSB) or demonstrated ability to learn regulatory frameworks quickly
• Strong data management and QA skills; comfort working in Salesforce-based platforms
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills
• Understanding of sustainability and climate change issues and their impact on a wide range of businesses
• Understanding of current and developing climate-related policies, disclosures and regulations

• Experience with Salesforce administration
• Hands-on experience with GHG accounting and emissions data (Scope 1/2/3); familiarity with the GHG Protocol
• FSA credential (or in progress) or equivalent sustainability certification
• Experience supporting external assurance/audit processes

Total Cash Compensation Range

$95,275.00-139,741.66
