Senior Procurement Agent

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.

Spirit Commercial’s Supply Chain Management Organization is responsible for the procurement of all materials and services for Wichita and Tulsa, and the company has contracts and agreements in place with top-tier suppliers across the globe. A Supply Chain Procurement Associate at Spirit is responsible for the procurement of key components that feed the Spirit assembly lines. Procurement Associates have responsibility for various pieces of the purchased component life cycle including requirement identification, sourcing, order placement and receipt/delivery to the assembly line. Our teams ensure we have the right part, at the right place, at the right time.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for synchronization of a supply chain for obtaining all metallic and non-metallic raw materials for the company. Interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure quality materials are delivered, to the right place, at the right time.
• Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
• Develops requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes supplier responses, negotiates and awards contracts, and manages post award supplier activity.
• Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Placing inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
• Monitors customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning. Incorporates planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability and arrive at optimal solutions.
• Ability to take big data, analyze and summarize for executive presentations
• Team player, collaboration with multi-functional groups
  
  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry, or a Master's degree and 8+ years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of MRP Systems, SAP preferred
• Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Data analysis and problem-solving skills
• High energy, dynamic personality with an ability to effect change
• Ideal candidate for this position is someone who understands the importance of relationships - how to positively cultivate and use influence to obtain desired outcomes

• Project management experience and skills
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering/technical drawings
• Knowledge of composite manufacturing process.
• Understanding the special qualification processes and Boeing specifications of aircraft parts.
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Strong analytical background with cost/price estimating in the aviation industry

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range - Senior (Level 4): $93,800 - $114,380
