 About the role

An aerospace/defense manufacturer is seeking a Program Cost Analyst to support program and manufacturing costs, contribute to fiscal forecasts, and help connect production-floor cost data to program-level financial reporting. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports and a clear path to greater ownership. The person in this seat works closely with program, operations, and finance leadership to help them understand what a program costs and why it moved.

What you'll own

  • Administer assigned program cost; prepare fiscal forecasts from historical cost and current production data

  • Compile and review program spend using actual performance, prior figures, estimated revenue, and expense data; prepare comparative evaluations of actual costs against prior EAC/forecast and investigate variances

  • Analyze manufacturing cost data — standard cost, burden/overhead rate application, BOM and scrap variance, work-in-process — and reconcile job cost data between the ERP/MRP system and the general ledger

  • Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) inputs and supporting analysis; perform monthly variance analysis and support earned value reporting where applicable

  • Support labor, overhead, and burden cost rate maintenance; contribute to personnel and headcount forecasts by program

  • Apply and help interpret EAC cost; maintain historical cost records; prepare regular management reports

  • Serve as a point of contact on assigned contracts and projects, coordinating with program management, contracts, operations, and finance colleagues

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3–7 years of progressively responsible cost accounting, analysis, or financial analysis experience; aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing exposure preferred

  • Working knowledge of cost accounting and EAC principles and practices

  • Ability to work under general supervision and to solve moderately complex problems using established precedent

  • U.S. Person status required (ITAR/EAR). Not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred

  • Exposure to Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, IFS, or a similar ERP/MRP system, including a cost or production module

  • Progress toward CMA, CPA, or CDFM; some EAC or earned value management exposure

  • Experience in an AS9100- or NADCAP-certified manufacturing environment

  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau
