Sr. Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and operate high-performance, low-latency networks supporting real-time trading operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-changing, high-pressure environment where microseconds matter and takes ownership of complex networking challenges. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY.

Senior Network Engineer's Responsibilities And Duties

• Design, build, and manage resilient, high-performance network platforms
• Automate, deploy, and monitor network systems and services
• Configure and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet
• Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and network upgrades
• Troubleshoot packet loss, jitter, and latency issues in real time
• Collaborate with Data Center Engineers and SREs to maintain seamless operations
• Provide vendor and contractor coordination for issue resolution
  
  

Senior Network Engineer's Qualifications And Skills

• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise networking, with a focus on high-performance, low-latency networks
• Proven experience in financial services, ideally High-Frequency Trading, Proprietary Trading, or an Exchange environment
• Strong experience with multicast and network automation platforms such as Ansible and Python
• Advanced understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VRF, STP, and IGMP
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• Networking certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, or Arista ACE) preferred
