This role blends hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance responsibilities — leveraging AI-assisted tools and models to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities, partnering with product engineering teams to keep products secure, and ensuring operations and procedures meet government and industry compliance standards. This is an on-site role requiring three days per week in the office.
What You'll Do
- Leverage AI models and AI-assisted security tools as a standard part of the security workflow — using them to identify, triage, and prioritize vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and infrastructure, and to proactively surface attacker techniques before they can be exploited
- Perform vulnerability management end to end, including scanning, risk-based prioritization, and tracking remediation through to closure
- Partner with product engineering teams to review application and infrastructure security, working directly alongside engineers on remediations when hands-on support is needed
- Support incident response and threat detection efforts across the environment, responding with urgency and thoroughness
- Serve as a point of contact for IT and security-related audits, including external and internal audits, and work with external auditors as required
- Assist with developing and implementing application security and privacy policies, standards, and educational programs
- Actively review and contribute to ISMS and PIMS policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines, working with stakeholders and subject matter experts on maintenance and development
- Perform IT and security control assessments and reviews, identify control deficiencies, and communicate findings clearly to control owners
- Assist in maintaining and improving ISMS and PIMS compliance frameworks, providing compliance-related input for significant organizational changes
- Configure and manage cyber-related systems including SSO, MDM, RMM, Vulnerability Scanners, AD/DC, IAM, and DLP
- Establish and manage BC/DR testing, and assist in rolling out and monitoring technical cyber controls and safeguards
- Stay current on emerging threats, attack techniques, and AI-enabled security tooling to continuously strengthen the organization's security posture
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate risk and risk-related data, and develop positive relationships with the technology department, stakeholders, and customers
- Demonstrated experience with AI models and AI-assisted security tools applied to vulnerability identification, threat analysis, triage, and remediation support — you use AI proactively to detect and close gaps, not reactively after incidents occur
- Working knowledge of vulnerability management and remediation, including direct collaboration with product and engineering teams on fixes
- Familiarity with core IT security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS
- Fundamental knowledge of IT concepts and technologies including DNS, DHCP, RMM, MDM, SIEM, AD/DC, BCDR, SSO, IAM, and DLP
- Experience supporting IT and security audits, compliance frameworks, and GRC-related activities including ISMS and PIMS policy development
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders — you translate jargon into language that decision-makers can act on
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with a strong focus on efficiency and continuous process improvement
- Comfortable evaluating and adopting emerging AI-driven security tools to strengthen detection and response capabilities
- Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical security role
Candidates Should Be Prepared To Discuss How They Are Currently Using AI In Their Cybersecurity Or IT Security Work. This Includes
- Specific AI models and security tools in active use and how they are applied to vulnerability scanning, threat detection, triage, or remediation prioritization
- Examples of how AI-assisted tooling has helped you identify vulnerabilities or attacker techniques faster than traditional methods, and how you validated and acted on those findings
- How you stay current on emerging AI-enabled security tools and how you evaluate them for adoption into an organization's security stack
- Bonus: examples of AI-driven security workflows or detection approaches that closed gaps, accelerated remediation cycles, or improved the organization's overall threat posture
$60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
