Working At Our Peebles Site

Opened in 1954 for rocket engine testing, Peebles has spent more than 70 years evolving into a critical part of GE Aerospace’s engine journey serving as the final stop before engines go on the wing of an airplane. Located in scenic Adams County, Ohio, our 7,000-acre campus includes 450,000 square feet across 69 structures and supports a wide range of impactful work. Role Overview

Assist in the engine dis-assembly, repair, prep for test, and de-prep following approved instructions and practices. Assist in installing engines in the test stand and setup for test, including special or slave systems. Assist in the operation of the current family of engines, following approved work requests, and ensuring the engine is operated within published limits. Maintain good communications with support organizations and the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • 1+ year of experience in a mechanical discipline
  • Ability to use hand tools, calibrated tooling and precision measurement instruments
  • Shift flexibility and availability for all available shifts. (outlined below) Shifts are subject to change according to business needs
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed team environment
  • Knowledge of borescope
  • Preliminary Review approved
  • Designated Inspector
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving
  • Engine test site operation
  • Knowledge of basic I/U skills
  • Knowledge of ADS system
  • Equipment operation, ie fork truck, transporter & tug
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed

Additional Information

  • Wages $36.29/hr + 5% differential for 2nd shift or 10% differential for Weekend Shifts
  • 4 x 10 1st shift Tuesday - Friday, 5am-3:30pm
  • 3 x 12 1st shift Saturday - Monday, 3am-3:30pm
  • 4 x 10 2nd shift Tuesday - Friday, 3pm-1:30am
  • 3 x 12 2nd shift Saturday - Monday, 3pm-3:30am
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
