Standard Job Description

Determines procedure and sequence of

installation, assembly, modernization, repair or

rework, by referring to blueprints, operation

sheets, and other manufacturing information.

Establishes the location, fits and installs systems

and accessories using various aircraft fasteners

and techniques where mating, locations, and

coordination of parts, assemblies and equipment

are critical factors. Makes continuity and

functional checks of systems for malfunction and

for specifications compliance, required to drill

ream countersink and install aircraft fasteners

and all necessary repairs, adjustments, and

replacements.

Standing/Sitting: Requires full time standing

with limited resting periods and to walk

distances. Sit for extended periods if required.

Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb

stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of

step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft

structure without handrails.

Overhead work: Able to work overhead as

required.

Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a

minimum of 25 lbs

Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or

waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward

positions as required. Able to

squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.

Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate

small tools and parts with hands. Simple

grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation

is required. Able to use vibrating tools and

perform torqueing operations. Able to use

power moving equipment and power moving

equipment. Repetitive tasks will be performed. Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye

coordination required. Corrective lenses may be

used. Eye protection required in many

instances. Color differentiation may be required.

Must be able to hear at level required for

positions.

Environmental: Able to work around noise,

chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using

respirators and other personal protective

equipment including hearing protection if

required. Able to work outside if needed.

Attendance: Regular attendance required based

on set work schedule.

Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to

operate equipment or machinery as required.

Able to work around heavy equipment and

machinery.

Basic Qualifications

Basic understanding of a manufacturing process.

Ability to perform assembly and installation work

using assembly, jigs, fixtures, test equipment,

precision measuring instruments, and mechanics

hand tools.

Proficient ability to read and interpret written

specifications, blueprints and engineering

drawings.

Desired Skills

Military aircraft assembly, maintenance and/or modification experience preferred. Will consider

commercial experience.

Experience with drill ream and countersink, hydraulic installs.

Knowledge of integral fuel tank sealing processes.

Pay Information

  • $31.68 - $53.33
