Piper Companies is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for a Cloud and Technology company located in Raleigh, NC. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud and cybersecurity best practices, along with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The Cloud Security Engineer position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite work two days per week in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Security Engineer:

Maintain secure AWS environments by ensuring configurations align with industry best practices, STIG requirements, CIS benchmarks, and NIST 800-53 controls.
Continuously monitor cloud environments to identify security vulnerabilities, document findings, and create remediation tickets to address risks.
Lead discussions with stakeholders regarding configurations, vulnerabilities, and recommended security improvements.
Collaborate with DevOps, IT, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams to support secure cloud operations.
Automate and document security processes using cloud-native tools and scripting while maintaining clear and accurate security documentation.

Qualifications for the Cloud Security Engineer:

2+ years of professional experience in cloud security engineering.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Experience with AWS security services, including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and WAF.
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools.
Proficiency in scripting and automation.
AWS Certified Security Specialty and/or CISSP certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 annually.
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO), sick leave where required by law, and company holidays.
