Description of Duties
This is an Information Services position responsible for administering or assisting with the implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure, ensuring optimized network reliability and performance for both County and customer access and use. Duties involve the engineering, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of high-performing Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Internet, and intranet infrastructure to meet both user and employer needs. Employees are responsible for providing support both technically and in the field, providing emergency and after-hours support, and coordinating with other teams and partners to maintain high network uptimes with minimal impact on the daily operations of County departments. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Network Engineering Manager or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience with engineering, repair, administration, management, or monitoring a modern data network; OR,
- Graduation with an Associate's degree, plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
- Six (6) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
