We are seeking a Data Program Manager, Sustainability to join BGRE in New York. In this role, you will play a key role in inspiring change and continual improvement. If you are committed to excellence and ready to contribute to a dynamic culture, we would love to meet you.
Provide strong technical expertise for the Sustainability Program across the North American office portfolio. Ownership and oversight of all sustainability performance data, including but not limited to carbon emissions, energy, water, and waste, and management of internal sustainability data management systems.
Support managing Brookfield-approved energy and sustainability strategies, programs, policies, and guidelines. Provide strong technical expertise for the Sustainability program for North American Office, including direct support for the North American Office net zero carbon plan, sustainability initiatives, and environmental data tracking and reporting. Review and support content for marketing, leasing, legal, and other public disclosures for accuracy related to sustainability. This role will function as the subject matter expert on New York specific sustainability requirements such as but not limited to Local Law climate regulations, energy reporting, and net zero targets.
The position demands flexibility and a high degree of organizational skills to manage a variety of priorities and changing deadlines. This individual must have a good understanding of data systems, design and development, and operational and technical issues to support communication with various departments and individuals. Interaction with senior managers and contractors requires this individual to have a thorough appreciation of professionalism and skills to manage inter-departmental and external relationships.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Type: Exempt
Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
Annual Base Salary Range: $115K–$125K
Medical & Pharmacy Coverage: Yes, under Brookfield Medical Plan

Role & Responsibilities
Utility Billing and Energy Systems
- Monitoring utility bill data, quality control and ensuring accuracy of data in our suite of data collection and reporting systems
- Administration of our systems, user access and account management, liaise with our IT group and vendors for training, software upgrades, etc.
- Liaise with vendors and local utilities on billing and administration changes where required, seek opportunities to optimize data collection into our systems
- Accountable for sustainability performance data, develop and manage data program, policies and procedures
- PBI dashboard oversight / support design / management
- GHG accounting and reporting
- Trend analysis and quality control
- Manage / oversee annual data assurance process
- Annual carbon emissions reporting process and deliverables
- Compile quantitative data for annual external sustainability reporting i.e. GRESB
- Manage sustainability initiatives & programming - renewable procurement strategy, nature/biodiversity, waste, and water initiatives - in alignment with portfolio and asset goals.
- Assist with general sustainability and operations initiatives, research and knowledge documents
- Assist with new energy and utility opportunities including procurement, local energy rebates and programs, renewable power, carbon reduction strategies, etc
- Assist with general ESG reporting submissions
- Participate in both internal and external committees and related working groups
- Provide cross functional support across the larger property operations team and/or corporate departments as required
Your Qualifications:
- Advanced level skills in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Familiarity and experience with PowerBI, SaaS and AI applications
- Technical knowledge of Greenhouse Gas GHG inventory quantification, verification, offsets, and management is a plus
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRESB, TCFD, GRI, UNSDG, etc.) is a plus
- 2-5 years’ experience in data analytics and analysis, sustainability program management, compiling and reviewing Greenhouse Gas inventories, and data systems management
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields, such as engineering, IT, finance, business or data analytics
- Graduate degree is an asset
- Data systems and/or GHG accounting credentials are strong assets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong intellectual curiosity for the subject matter, analytical skills, and creative problem solving
- Self-directed and motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
