About The Role

The Sourcing Analyst position is a hybrid role requiring an on-site presence three to four days per week, with the possibility of increased on-site days based on business needs. This individual will play a critical role in supporting Sysco’s sourcing activities through comprehensive data analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a solid understanding of database management systems such as Microsoft Access and SQL Server, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Collaborating closely with the Sourcing Team leads, Category Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Centers, the Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for gathering, validating, and analyzing data to support strategic sourcing decisions, negotiations, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in business analytics, preferably in a sourcing or procurement environment
• Proficiency in data structures and database access/reporting tools
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server
• Understanding of statistics and quantitative analysis techniques such as spreadsheet modeling and regression analysis
• Preferred experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power Pivot, or Smartsheet
• Familiarity with automation and scripting tools including Python, Power Query, or SQL
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize insights from multiple data sources
• Excellent communication skills to translate data insights into business recommendations
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Detail-oriented with a high level of organization and accuracy
  
  

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analytics to support sourcing negotiations and decision-making processes
• Perform data analysis using predefined templates within the Category Management process
• Identify key cost drivers, pricing trends, supplier capabilities, and market regions through comprehensive analysis
• Develop and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing activities
• Provide data support to the supplier relations and category management teams
• Create ad hoc reports to meet the needs of Sourcing Managers, Category Managers, and SSR Managers
• Support SSR Manager during supplier business reviews with relevant data insights
• Collaborate with the insights team to develop surveys and interview guidelines for key suppliers
• Maintain data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis activities
• Stay updated with industry trends and continuously seek opportunities for process automation and improvement
