Job Overview:
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join the cloud networking team, taking on all proactive elements of networking, including capacity augmentation as the organization grows. This role works within a globally distributed remote environment, coordinating with multiple internal and external teams during changes, deployments, and complex troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Proactively engage and effectively communicate with multiple parties during execution of changes or complex troubleshooting
· Perform network device code upgrades, deployments, decommissions, and RMAs across the globe, either manually or via automation tools
· Coordinate with external vendors and internal Data Center and Ops teams for network deployment
· Perform troubleshooting and resolve network issues in response to incidents within given SLA timeframes
· Develop and maintain internal documentation and processes to support network infrastructure operations at scale
· Triage and remediate network security vulnerability items
· Perform ongoing analysis of CMDB and monitoring system data to ensure hygiene, alert thresholds, and validated alarms in the NOC console
· Partner with Data Center and Ops teams to plan and execute software code upgrades and device maintenance
· Provide feedback to the CNS team on architecture, design decisions, tools, and automation
· Provide feedback to Infrastructure and Development teams to improve overall service quality and reliability
· Own and drive specific tasks or projects as identified by network engineering and operations teams
· Use Ansible, Python modules, and other in-house automation tools to perform deployments and troubleshooting
· Work effectively in both commercial and regulated market environments
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable):
· Solid understanding of and experience with network technologies such as 802.1q, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, MCLAG, BGP, BFD, NAT, ACLs, IPSEC, and SNMP
· Ability to proactively communicate with multiple parties during changes or complex troubleshooting
· Experience working efficiently in a globally distributed remote environment
· Experience performing network device code upgrades, deployments, decommissions, and RMAs
· Ability to coordinate with external vendors and internal Data Center/Ops teams
· Experience troubleshooting and resolving network issues within SLA timeframes
· Ability to work in both commercial and regulated market environments
· Knowledge of scripting (especially for Cisco, Juniper, or Linux-based devices), Ansible, Python, or Go
Nice-to-Have / Trainable Skills:
· Knowledge of MPLS
· Familiarity with Juniper JunOS, Cisco IOS, Cumulus (Linux), and RestAPI
· Experience with troubleshooting/monitoring tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark
· Basic Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting knowledge
· JNCIA or CCNA/CCNP certification
