Flight Test Analyst

Position will provide support to the MDA’s Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program.

  • Candidate will assist in development of pre-mission flight test design/scenarios and support flight test execution by:
  • Performing pre-mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization
  • Performing pre-mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests can be conducted safely in accordance with Range Commanders Council safety standards
  • Supporting Range Safety Working Group meeting and activities to include tracking action items, data delivery schedules, and analysis schedules
  • Assist with pre-mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements
  • Assist senior team members in conducting COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization and Missile Defense System (MDS) designs, performance and testing
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or other programming languages
  • Basic understanding of Orbital Mechanics and Physics

Highly Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of RF Engineering and Communication design and processing
  • Knowledge of Range Commander’s Council Standards
  • Education: BA/BS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. 5 years relevant experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement
  • Experience: No direct experience required
  • Clearance: Minimum Secret clearance required
