The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the information security architecture aligning Information Security with the business and regulatory requirements of the Community Health Network and industry best practices. The Cyber Security Engineer will monitor and administer security mechanisms that provide access control and user account management. This position will also assist in conducting audits as needed to ensure compliance with published policies relating to the security of information system resources. Other key responsibilities include the following:

Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the information security architecture aligning Information Security with the business and regulatory requirements of the Community Health Network and industry best practices. The Cyber Security Engineer will monitor and administer security mechanisms that provide access control and user account management. This position will also assist in conducting audits as needed to ensure compliance with published policies relating to the security of information system resources. Other key responsibilities include the following:
- Testing and implementation of technical security tools and controls as required by the information security architecture.
- Monitor, identify and report on security exposures and threats to the computing environment and its impact on Community Health Network.
- Participates in system design reviews and product evaluations, including new applications and third-party turn-key systems.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures regarding the use and access of data stored in or obtained from information systems.
- Provides training and consulting with regards to information systems security concepts as needed.
- Assists in audits of data use, access, and conformance to security policies and procedures.
- Maintains/creates necessary documentation and records in compliance with federal, state, and local law applicable to healthcare Organizations (HIPAA). Maintains/creates necessary. documentation for IT security policies, procedures, and internal processes.
- Implement and manage systems relating to Virtual Private Network (VPN), Radius, TACACS, firewalls, Encryption methodologies, authentication schemes, wireless technologies, DNS, TCP/IP, routing and switching technologies, Intrusion Detection, Identity Management solutions, network directory systems, LDAP, AD, Linux administration, shell scripting, SPAM filtering solutions, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred. If not certified, candidates must be willing to obtain certification within 12 months upon hire.
- Three (3) years of IT Security experience required.
- Familiarity with Cloud and Security Technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and Defender.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide on-site support as needed for incidents or scheduled maintenance.
- This position is a hybrid role; you must reside within a 60-mile radius of 7351 Shadeland Station, Indianapolis, IN 46256. Hybrid expectations include in-office work once to twice a week and/or on an as needed basis per the needs of the hiring department.
