Facilities Mechanical Engineer
An Aerospace company in Hampton, VA is looking to bring on a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to play a critical role in supporting plant operations, capital projects, facility infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly visible position where you'll help shape manufacturing operation by implementing new equipment, improving existing systems, and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance.

What You'll Do:
- Lead capital and facility improvement projects from planning through execution.
- Specify, design, and implement new manufacturing equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
- Partner with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
- Test and commission newly installed equipment to ensure performance and contractual requirements are met.
- Provide engineering support and troubleshooting assistance for maintenance and production teams.
- Generate contractor scopes of work, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of mechanical project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience managing capital equipment or facility improvement projects.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- AutoCAD and/or Inventor proficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with facility infrastructure systems and utilities.
- Experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Investment casting experience is highly desirable.
