A leading food and beverage manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and drive all environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives at a large production facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this individual will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading continuous improvement efforts across the site.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing EHS programs, environmental compliance, employee training, and safety leadership. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a significant impact on operational performance and workplace safety.
- Lead and manage all environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs across the facility.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.
- Oversee environmental programs including air emissions, wastewater, waste management, permitting, and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and compliance matters.
- Develop and implement safety initiatives that support an injury-free workplace and continuous improvement culture.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
- Lead safety committees and drive employee engagement in workplace safety programs.
- Manage workers' compensation processes and support return-to-work initiatives.
- Analyze safety and environmental performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain all required environmental and safety documentation and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Experience managing environmental compliance programs, permits, and reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving culture change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- CSP certification preferred.
- Hands-on EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
