Network Engineer II

Position Overview

Seeking a Network Engineer II to support enterprise network, security, server, and infrastructure operations within a complex IT environment. This role is responsible for maintaining physical and virtual systems, supporting network and security initiatives, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and ensuring reliable performance across server, network, and private cloud environments.

Job Duties

• Build, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server environments.
• Ensure servers remain current with required patches, updates, and security fixes.
• Assist with the investigation, analysis, and mitigation of security incidents.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual network switching infrastructure, including Cisco and VMware distributed virtual switches.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot router infrastructure, including Cradlepoint devices.
• Monitor and manage the team's backlog of support requests, incidents, and service issues.
• Support daily operational activities while meeting departmental and project deadlines.
• Analyze technical issues and risks and develop remediation recommendations.
• Document findings, solutions, and infrastructure changes.
• Present technical recommendations and remediation plans to team leads and management.
• Provide ongoing support for network, server, security, and cloud infrastructure environments.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience administering and supporting VMware vSphere environments.
• 3 years of experience performing server administration in Windows and/or VMware environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) for endpoint management and software deployment.
• 2 years of experience supporting and administering Cisco networking infrastructure.
• 1 year of experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications (VoIP) environments.
• 1 year of experience utilizing Nessus by Tenable for vulnerability scanning and security assessments.
• 1 year of experience administering and supporting firewall technologies.
• 1 year of experience administering Linux server environments.
