We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanisms Engineer to support the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of advanced aerospace and high-reliability mechanical systems. The successful candidate will work in a hands-on engineering environment, collaborating closely with design, test, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure successful build, qualification, and delivery of complex mechanical assemblies and subsystems.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Integration Support
- Provide manufacturing and test engineering support during product build, integration, and verification activities.
- Support assembly, integration, and qualification efforts for mechanical systems and subsystems.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve build processes.
- Provide feedback to design engineering teams to optimize manufacturability, assembly flow, cost, and production efficiency.
- Plan, perform, and lead component-, assembly-, and subsystem-level testing activities.
- Develop testing requirements, procedures, tooling, fixtures, and support equipment.
- Support environmental and qualification testing activities, including vibration, shock, thermal, and mechanical performance testing.
- Analyze test results and generate detailed technical reports documenting findings and recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews, engineering studies, and trade-off analyses to determine optimal assembly, integration, and test strategies.
- Execute engineering analyses using sound engineering principles while adhering to company standards and program requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through design refinements and lessons learned from testing and production activities.
- Investigate anomalies, failures, and non-conformances during manufacturing and testing activities.
- Perform root-cause investigations and support corrective and preventive action implementation.
- Drive resolution of technical issues through cross-functional collaboration.
- Contribute to iterative design improvements based on production and test feedback.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience supporting mechanical system assembly, integration, testing, manufacturing, or product development within aerospace, defence, automotive, industrial, robotics, or other high-reliability industries.
- Experience working with precision mechanical systems, deployment mechanisms, actuators, hinges, latches, motion-control systems, or similar hardware.
- Familiarity with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies and non-conformance resolution processes.
- Working knowledge of ECAD/MCAD integration, configuration management, and product lifecycle management (PLM/PDM) systems.
- Experience supporting vibration, shock, thermal, or environmental qualification test campaigns.
- Understanding of cleanroom operations, contamination control, or controlled manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with industry quality and workmanship standards such as AS9100, IPC, ECSS, NASA, ISO, or equivalent regulated-industry requirements.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certification is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven problem-solving ability and ownership mindset.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to engineering challenges.

- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software experience is beneficial.
- Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Engineering documentation and configuration control tools.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience with LabVIEW or similar data acquisition and test automation platforms is preferred.
- Ability to work hands-on with engineering hardware, test equipment, tooling, and precision instruments.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Flexibility to support occasional extended hours when required to meet project milestones.
- Willingness to support alternative shift patterns, including evenings or weekends, when operational needs require.
