Hardware Engineer Lead
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, and generally, has 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines
Issuing formal design checking approvals or non-conformance reports through the PLM tool.
Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
Developing and generating HW architectural layouts for system and lower level interfaces between systems and subsystems
Deriving Hardware and sub tier requirements from customer requirements
Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation
Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional teams through major technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
Experience applying Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment.
Prior engagement experiences requiring communication of technical concepts to external stakeholders

The Work
This is a position for a Hardware Engineer Lead on the Rotary Training Solutions Blackhawk simulator.
As the Hardware Engineering Lead on this team, you will:
Lead other Hardware Engineers that synchronizes engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design is completed as scheduled. Candidate will also develop innovative solutions to a range of complex problems that are consistent with the program objectives.
Be a member of Integrated Product Team responsible for the scope and associated cost and schedule. Interface with cross functional teams and customer on regular basis to effectively execute the scope.
This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.
10 - 20% Domestic and/or international travel will be required.
Desired Skills
Experience with Windchill, Creo, Windchill and/or Catia, Zuken and Cameo.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.
Knowledge of generating hardware architecture, high level interconnects, and deriving requirements from customer and system level flow downs.
Prior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of flight training systems.
Leveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products.
Product design experience in the context of modular open systems architectures (e.g. SOA).
Experience with Rotary and/or Fixed Wing Aircraft or Training System Design.
Experience with full motion simulators.
Active Secret Security clearance or higher.
