What This Role Is
This is not a ticket-queue analyst role. We are not looking for someone to refresh dashboards when stakeholders ask. We are looking for a senior individual contributor who owns analytics delivery across both Mastermind.com and AI Advantage end to end: data model design, pipeline maintenance, business-facing reporting, and real-time decision support for Sales, Marketing, Client Success, Events, and Operations leadership across both organizations.
The data flows through Fivetran and custom Python scripts, lands in BigQuery, gets transformed in dbt Cloud, and surfaces in Hex and Google Sheets. You will build and maintain that whole chain. You will also be the person who sits in the room with non-technical leaders, tells them what the data actually says, and pushes back when they are asking the wrong question.

What This Role Is Not
- A large BI team where analysts refresh dashboards and hand off models to engineers
- A pure analytics engineering seat with no business-facing communication
- A remote or hybrid role. This is five days per week onsite in Scottsdale, AZ
- A role for someone who is resistant to or unfamiliar with AI-assisted workflows
- A stepping stone for someone looking for a people management title in 6 months
If You Can...
- Write complex, performant SQL from scratch and explain what it is doing to a non-technical stakeholder in the same breath
- Build and maintain production dbt models, not just write select statements on top of them
- Take a vague business question from a VP of Sales and turn it into a scoped analysis with a clear output
- Use Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Copilot to write faster SQL, accelerate dbt model development, and prototype Python scripts you could not have built as quickly alone
- Identify when a data request is answering the wrong question and respectfully say so with a better frame
- Build lightweight internal dashboards or data apps when the situation calls for something beyond a spreadsheet
- Work independently without a dedicated analytics engineering team behind you

Most analytics seats come with someone else's backlog, someone else's opinions about what to measure, and no real access to the business leaders who actually use the data. You spend half your time in ticket queues and the other half explaining why a number changed.
The stack is real and established: Fivetran, BigQuery, dbt Cloud, Hex, Python. The business leaders are engaged and data-curious. The company is AI-forward in practice, not just in pitch decks. And because this is a lean team, the person in this seat has direct line of sight to every meaningful business question across the organization.

What You'll Own
Data Modeling and Pipeline Ownership (Ongoing)
- Build, maintain, and improve dbt models that support reporting across Sales, Marketing, Client Success, and Operations
- Partner with data engineering resources to manage Fivetran connectors and Python-based ingestion workflows
- Own data quality monitoring, documentation, and schema governance for core business domains
Business-Facing Analytics Delivery (Weekly/Monthly)
- Partner directly with Sales, Marketing, and Operations leaders to scope and deliver analysis that drives decisions
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards in Hex and Google Sheets for leadership and team-level consumption
- Design and run cohort analyses, funnel breakdowns, attribution models, LTV calculations, and revenue performance reporting
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical audiences
AI-Assisted Analytics Workflows (Daily)
- Use AI tools including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Copilot to accelerate SQL development, dbt model creation, Python scripting, QA, and documentation
- Prototype lightweight internal apps and dashboards when a spreadsheet is not the right output
- Stay current on AI-assisted analytics tooling and bring new approaches to the team
Analytics Infrastructure and Enablement (Ongoing)
- Maintain and improve GCP/BigQuery infrastructure including Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and related services
- Support analytics enablement for business stakeholders by building self-serve reporting where appropriate
- Identify and close gaps in data coverage across key business processes
What We're Looking For
Requirements
- 5+ years of analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or hybrid data experience
- Expert SQL including joins, CTEs, window functions, subqueries, and performance-aware query writing
- Strong Python for data work: pandas, API ingestion, scripting, automation, reporting workflows
- Hands-on dbt experience in a real production environment including models, tests, macros, and documentation
- Cloud data warehouse experience; BigQuery is preferred, Snowflake or Redshift is acceptable
- Demonstrated ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders and deliver clear, actionable analysis
- Concrete examples of using AI tools to accelerate analytics work
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Scottsdale, AZ, five days per week
Strong Differentiators
- Experience with Hex, Mode, Deepnote, Observable, or similar notebook-style BI tools
- Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch, or similar data ingestion tool experience
- GCP experience: Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Looker Studio
- Vibe-coding or AI-assisted prototyping: Retool, Streamlit, Next.js, or similar
- Marketing attribution, funnel analytics, paid media analytics, cohort analysis, LTV, subscription analytics, or sales performance reporting
- Experience in online education, coaching, digital marketing, info-products, SaaS, or high-growth consumer or business platforms
- Reverse ETL or event tracking exposure: Hightouch, Census, Segment, or RudderStack
