SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT COORDINATOR
Description
Coordinates and implements sustainability projects including cross-functional team projects and other projects that relate to implementation of the City Sustainability Plan
Organizes and participates in projects and programs, maintains database records, and disseminates information
Completes special projects
Examples of Duties
UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION
Coordinates and implements multiple projects and programs to achieve objectives and goals of the City Sustainability Plan
Fosters, develops, and launches sustainability projects in partnership with Metro departments and external agencies
Provides technical assistance and guidance to project teams
Assists with preparing annual updates of the City Sustainability Plan
Drafts and revises project charters, task level work plans, status reports and detailed project documents
Develops and maintains partnerships to create and promote green economy initiatives
Develops and disseminates educational material and programs regarding sustainability, green initiatives and eco-friendly practices
Communicates with community stakeholder groups about Metro sustainability initiatives and other relevant sustainability topics
Participates in energy strategy workgroup efforts and Metro green team initiatives
Researches and recommends sustainability best practices, programs, and industry trends
Identifies and secures funding opportunities from external sources for sustainability projects
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Travels to multiple locations to attend meetings and to complete special projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Biological Science
Environmental Engineering
Environmental Science
Public Administration
Urban Planning
Related field
Three years of energy efficiency, green initiative, environmental, or sustainability program planning and implementation experience
Must provide one's own source of transportation
Must work a varied schedule
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and to meet established deadlines
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to be flexible in meeting changing priorities
Must be organized and able to prioritize workflow and competing demands
Must work accurately with attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software
Skill in public speaking
