Summary:
The Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the credit union’s activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs. The analyst must remain informed about regulatory updates and any changes in relevant laws. Additional duties include investigating and resolving compliance issues, contributing to the development and delivery of staff training programs, and preparing reports to management that identify key risks and outline mitigation strategies.

Essential Functions:
- Review various aspects of the credit union's operations, including transactions, member accounts, products, and services, to ensure they adhere to federal, state, and local banking laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements that may impact on the credit union's operations and ensure that internal policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to management highlighting key compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
- Help with training staff on new or updated policies and directives, identify training needs, and provide guidance on compliance best practices.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
- Assist with ERM and BCP assessments and plans
- Assist the BSA Team with compliance efforts (AML alerts and SARs)
- Provide support during audits and examinations conducted by regulatory agencies and external auditors
- Attend BSA/OFAC training sessions as needed to stay current with regulatory requirements.
- Complete the required BSA & OFAC training annually.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Work Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or credit union industry
- Minimum 5 years of compliance experience or formal training, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Fusion Phoenix system or comparable core banking systems.
- Proven ability in mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and meticulous organizational skills.
- Possess working knowledge of banking or credit union regulations such as California Credit Union Law, NCUA Rules and Regulations, Bank Secrecy Act compliance, Truth in Savings, and the Privacy Act.
- Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting industry publications, financial statements, and legal documents. Capable of effectively addressing inquiries and resolving complaints from internal teams and departments.
- Demonstrates solid working knowledge of credit union branch operations, policies, and procedures.
- Consistently demonstrates a commitment to delivering exceptional service to members and colleagues with every interaction.
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM/CUCO) preferred
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) preferred
- Internal auditing training or similar coursework

Compensation:
Pay Grade is P2. This position is eligible for our twice-a-year discretionary bonus.
Targeted Hourly Pay: $32.00 – 42.00 / hour (Depending on experience)
