The Opportunity ...

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will spearhead the design and development of equipment specifically for our Fresh Produce Technologies (FPT) segment located in Riverside, CA. In this role, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

You will be responsible for creating mechanical designs that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for new and existing equipment.
• Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
• Collaborate with managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with equipment assembly team and fabrication vendors
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the food processing equipment industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FEA and other simulation tools.
• Basic understanding of schematics, control system and automation principles
• Knowledge of sanitary design principles for food processing equipment.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• This position is at our Riverside, CA Location, no remote work available.
• 15%-20% travel may be required to meet with retail partners and attend industry events.
  
  
  

COMPENSATION RANGE: $93,000.00 to $115,000.00. Compensation is determined on experience and skill. This job description is a general description of essential job functions.
