The Physical Security Engineer is responsible for delivering technical expertise and implementation support after the sales process, ensuring successful deployment, integration, and optimization of physical security solutions. This role works closely with customers, sales teams, and project teams to deliver cloud-based and enterprise-grade security systems that meet operational and compliance requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Provide post-sales technical support for physical security solutions, including access control and video surveillance systems
  • Implement, configure, integrate, and support platforms such as Brivo Access Control, Eagle Eye Networks VMS, and Genetec Security Center
  • Validate system designs and ensure implementations align with approved solutions and customer requirements
  • Perform site surveys, system commissioning, testing, and acceptance
  • Support integrations between access control, video surveillance, alarms, and third-party systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and cloud-related issues
  • Coordinate with project managers, installers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure smooth delivery
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, configurations, and as-built drawings
  • Provide customer training, system handover, and ongoing technical support
  • Support system upgrades, expansions, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure systems comply with security standards, best practices, and company policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in physical security systems or post-sales engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Brivo, Eagle Eye Networks, and/or Genetec Security Center
  • Strong understanding of access control, VMS, CCTV, and system integration
  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, PoE, VLANs)
  • Experience working with cloud-based security platforms
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, system designs, and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturer certifications for Brivo, Eagle Eye Networks, Genetec, or related platforms
  • Experience integrating security systems with identity management, HR systems, or building management systems (BMS)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for physical security environments
  • Familiarity with compliance standards relevant to physical security deployments

Physical Demands

This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment

This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
