Job Summary

The Senior Director, Commercial Operations and Commercial Excellence is responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the commercial function within the organization. This role ensures that sales, marketing, and business development teams are equipped with tools, data insights, and best practices to maximize revenue growth, market penetration, and customer engagement. The role also focuses on optimizing processes, leveraging analytics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in commercial execution. Furthermore, the role will lead our continued efforts around International Key Account Management and the OEM business. The position acts as the VP of North America’s strategic partner in sales and acts on behalf of the VP during operating reviews when absent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Drive the execution of go-to-market strategies, ensuring market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to optimize commercial performance.
  • Identify growth opportunities and enhance commercial excellence initiatives.
  • Sales Operations
  • Oversee sales operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, pricing and contract management.
  • Implement best practices for lead generation, conversion tracking, and customer engagement.
  • Ensure the integration of digital tools and CRM systems for efficient workflow.
  • Support marketing teams in campaign execution and performance analysis.
  • Responsible for order management/customer service
  • Business Intelligence & Data Analytics
  • Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and enhance commercial effectiveness.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to track sales, market trends, and customer behaviors.
  • Implement AI and machine learning tools for predictive analytics and business growth strategies.
  • Pricing strategies
  • Process Improvement & Commercial Excellence
  • Identify inefficiencies in commercial operations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish standardized processes and frameworks to enhance commercial productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to drive efficiencies and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Champion best practices and provide training to commercial teams on sales excellence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with internal teams, including business units, finance, compliance, legal, and supply chain, to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Act as a thought leader in commercial excellence, driving innovation and change.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Your Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales strategy, or commercial excellence within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving commercial efficiencies.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), analytics tools, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into action.
