What You Will Get
Mechanical Engineer will focus on new product development and aide in maintaining existing products. Primary responsibility would be to develop products from concept stage to production-ready. Support existing production products through VAVE and Continuous Improvement efforts. Working closely with an internal cross-functional team as well as external customers and suppliers will be essential.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 25 pounds. This position can involve sitting for various periods of time, and also requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching throughout the day. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also become necessary.
Travel
Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.
Preferred Education And Experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Essential Functions
- SolidWorks modeling, drawing, and simulation
- Detail component and assembly designs/models and create engineering prints with use of GD&T
- Write design validation plans and testing procedures
- Project management software - Help create project schedule and adhere to timelines
- Track and communicate design changes
- Revision control standards and BOM management
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Assist engineering personnel in specifying equipment, and develop methods and procedures for testing mechanical products or systems
- Root cause analysis
- Design and modify mechanical products and systems to fit application requirements
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to LCI's safety and personnel policies
- Conceptual development of products
- Assist in writing technical documents including test reports, product specifications, manuals, etc.
- Assist manufacturing assembly areas through first runs of products
- Provide instruction and technical support for LCI production and customers
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Suppliers to assure most efficient methods of manufacture (DFM) and assembly (DFA) are developed to meet appropriate specifications.
- Finalize all engineering documentation necessary for product release and revision.
- Assist in establishing and/or upgrading internal engineering standards and practices.
- All other responsibilities assigned by management.
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.
- May sit for several hours at a time.
- Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
- Travel to customer or other Lippert facilities may be required
- Floor time at customers or other Lippert facilities may be required which may include walking, kneeling, crouching, sitting, standing
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience using 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks preferred)
- At least 3 years of Maintenance, Mechanical, or related industrial experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal partners
- Self-motivated, proactive individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to drive and influence technical decisions aligned with business objectives
- Strong capability to analyze technical and strategic issues and clearly present recommendations to management
- Effective communication and presentation skills with both customers and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated commitment to Quality, LEAN principles, and continuous improvement initiatives
