MileOne Autogroup is seeking a Manager of IT Systems to lead the operational ownership, stability, and continuous improvement of the organization’s core IT platforms. This role is responsible for overseeing enterprise systems that support infrastructure, endpoint management, identity, access, backup, and collaboration services across the business.


The Manager of IT Systems provides technical leadership and people management while partnering closely with Infrastructure, Security, BI, and IT Support teams. This position balances hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, process improvement, and strategic planning to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with business and cybersecurity objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with department leadership to ensure scalability and redundancy relative to IT systems, processes, and resources.


Key Responsibilities:

Systems & Platform Ownership

  • Own and manage virtualization and infrastructure platforms including VMware vCenter and VMware host environments.
  • Oversee enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including Cyber Vault and Dell PPDM, ensuring resiliency, testing, and documented recovery procedures.
  • Manage DNS and domain services to ensure reliability, accuracy, and security.


Endpoint & Device Management

  • Lead administration and strategy for Endpoint Central, including:
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Imaging and endpoint deployment
  • Software deployment and patching
  • Configuration standards (desktop settings, mapped drives, power policies)
  • Windows upgrades and lifecycle management
  • Oversee Apple device management and enrollment through Apple Business Manager.


Identity, Access & Security Systems

  • Manage Active Directory environments, including upgrades, cleanup, and long-term architectural improvements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Group Policy standards.
  • Own identity and access platforms, including:
  • Microsoft Entra ID synchronization and MFA
  • Cisco Duo administration and policy enforcement
  • Cisco Secure Client deployment and endpoint security policies


Messaging & Collaboration

  • Oversee Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft O365 platforms, ensuring secure configuration, availability, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Coordinate authentication, synchronization, and messaging-related changes with security and infrastructure teams.


People Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and technical direction to IT systems and endpoint-focused team members.
  • Support onboarding, training, and skill development for team members managing enterprise platforms.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex systems and endpoint issues.
  • Partner with Help Desk leadership to ensure smooth handoffs, clear escalation paths, and consistent service delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in performance feedback, goal setting, and workload prioritization for assigned staff.


Governance, Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure systems align with cybersecurity policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead planning and execution for system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle replacements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and reduction of technical debt.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools that may improve efficiency, security, or user experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing enterprise IT systems across infrastructure, endpoint, identity, and security domains.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading or mentoring technical staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, endpoint management platforms, virtualization, and backup technologies.
  • Experience administering Microsoft and Cisco identity and security solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership and strategic responsibilities.
