Primary Responsibilities
The Data Analyst will be the primary data entry and evaluation team member for the Chamber and the Foundation. This is a part-time position contract position that will work with external partners to develop and manage data for ElevateEdAZ. The person in this role must have keen attention to detail and the ability to analyze data to identify themes and trends.
The candidate will communicate in a strong, positive, and effective manner, both verbally and written, and be a self-starter with the ability to sustain and move work forward with minimal direction. The ideal candidate must be well organized with the ability to ensure continuous progress of various projects.
Position Objectives:
- Maintain and analyze key data to measure status and progress towards ElevateEdAZ goals and objectives
- Identify methods of data visualization and presentation principles to measure program outcomes
- Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards (PowerBI), data-driven reports (MS Excel), and performance metrics that support key business decisions
- Foster positive relationships with partner school districts to obtain student level data in compliance with confidentiality agreements
- Import and utilize state and regional LMI data and growth sector trends to inform pathway alignment for educational programs
- Ability to manage and implement data project deadlines
- Find and understand correct data sources for given analysis
- Develop and create useful and accessible data models relevant to program objectives
- Ability to create presentations to share data findings with stakeholders
- Curiosity and passion about utilizing analytics and data to solve problems
- Willing to ask questions and challenge data accuracy and assumptions
Candidate Qualifications:
The Foundation is looking for candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities desirable for job success:
- Minimum two years of experience in data analysis
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, M, DAX measures, Excel Data Model, and Excel
- Intermediate skills in Python, knowledge of python for data cleaning
- Experience in full Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes
- Knowledge of student education attainment data and reporting highly desired
- Knowledge of LMI and workforce-related data highly desired
- Ability to communicate data requests as well as findings with an objective, non-judgmental demeanor
- Skilled in presenting to a variety of audiences from entry-level employees to executive staff
- Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure quality data reporting
- Must possess analytical ability to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities and solutions
- Detail oriented with ability to stay organized while handling multiple tasks. Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in all MS Office products
- Must maintain a neat and professional appearance
- Must be able to pass a background check, fingerprint clearance and a drug test
