We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr IT Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer to join our team! The Sr IT Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Manufacturing Execution Systems based on the Siemens Opcenter platform. This role is critical in developing robust MES architectures that connect manufacturing operations, ensuring real-time production visibility, and integrating with broader enterprise systems to drive operational efficiency and digital manufacturing initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to leverage the full potential of the Siemens Opcenter platform to shape next-generation manufacturing execution systems that combine traditional MES reliability with modern digital manufacturing capabilities.

This role offers the opportunity to leverage the full potential of the Siemens Opcenter platform to shape next-generation manufacturing execution systems that combine traditional MES reliability with modern digital manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Siemens Opcenter solutions across manufacturing operations.
- Design and develop comprehensive MES system architectures using Opcenter, including production workflows, quality modules, and manufacturing intelligence dashboards.
- Lead technical evaluation and selection of shop floor hardware, manufacturing equipment interfaces, and industrial communication technologies.
- Architect scalable and secure manufacturing execution system networks with appropriate redundancy and high-availability capabilities.
- Design production data collection strategies and manufacturing databases that support real-time analytics and operational intelligence.
- Develop standards for MES configuration, workflow design, and manufacturing system integrations to ensure consistency across operations.
- Create detailed system specifications, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation for MES implementations.
- Lead integration efforts between MES systems and high-level applications (ERP, PLM, quality management systems).
- Provide technical leadership for MES implementation teams and serve as escalation point for complex manufacturing system issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Masters degree is a plus.
- 2-3 years of experience specifically designing and implementing MES systems required; 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Deep technical knowledge of Siemens Opcenter platform, including experience with modules such as Execution, Quality, Intelligence, RD&L, and Connect MOM.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, shop floor data collection, and industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.).
- Experience with manufacturing databases, historians, and real-time production data management.
- Experience architecting high-availability MES systems with appropriate redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Experience deploying Opcenter in virtualized environments and configuring fault-tolerant architectures with load balancing.
- Experience using Opcenter's capabilities in manufacturing analytics, and advanced reporting to implement modern smart manufacturing solutions.
- Experience using Mendix low-code platform for custom manufacturing applications and MES extension preferred.
- Experience using Opcenter as an integration platform to connect MES data with ERP, PLM, quality systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
