Quality Assurance Software Engineer

A technology-driven organization is seeking a QA Software Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through both automated and manual testing. This role focuses heavily on designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Playwright or comparable tools. The engineer will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and QA counterparts to define testing strategies, expand coverage, and support high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright or similar platforms (e.g., Cypress, Selenium).
• Expand testing coverage across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing when automation is not feasible.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Document, track, and triage defects; partner with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain reliable test environments, data sets, and reporting processes.
• Contribute to QA best practices, reusable test components, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and quality metrics.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant QA experience, including hands-on test automation framework design (5+ years for senior-level candidates).
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with standard business software after onboarding.
• Ability to work extended hours or weekends when required.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Solid understanding of web application testing, including cross-browser validation.
• Experience with performance testing.
• Deep understanding of web and API testing, including scalability considerations.
• Hands-on expertise with Playwright or similar automation tools (Cypress, Selenium).

Compensation: $90,000-120,000 annually

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
