Director of Institutional Giving

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is seeking a Director of Institutional Giving. Working closely with, and reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Institutional Giving will lead GSEMA's institutional partnerships strategy. With an eye on both stability and expansion this role will set the direction for growth across government, foundation and corporate sectors. This leadership role is responsible for identifying, advancing, and stewarding current and prospective institutional funders through an effective and efficient moves management process.
The Director will collaborate with the Mission Delivery Programming and Finance teams to ensure institutional growth aligns with programmatic capacity and strategic priorities. This position oversees the work of the Contract Grant Writer and ensures all grant- and contract-funded initiatives meet the highest standards of performance and accountability. This is a high-impact role that combines strategic vision with hands-on relationship management to strengthen GSEMA’s financial sustainability and mission delivery.
This is a full-time, hybrid position with 2-3 days per week in the GSEMA Waltham office.

- :Institutional Fundraising and Relationship Managemen
- tDevelop and maintain a portfolio of institutional partners, taking an active role in cultivation, proposal development, negotiation, and reporting to secure multi-year funding and meet annual targets
- .Identify and cultivate high-value foundation prospects, creating tailored strategies and leading complex proposal submissions
- .Grant Writing and Complianc
- eResearch, write, and submit grant proposals, applications, and letters of intent to institutional funders, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies (work in collaboration with the part time freelance grant writer as needed)
- .Ensure excellence in grant and contract management by collaborating with Finance and the Mission Delivery's Membership and Program teams to maintain strong systems for proposal development, compliance, reporting, and close-out
- .Data and Strategy Integratio
- nPartner with data collection and evaluation staff to ensure quality outputs and outcomes for grant reporting, proposal development, and external visibility
- .Utilize research, analysis, and trends to inform institutional fundraising strategies and partnership development
- .Advocacy & External Representatio
- nRepresent GSEMA in cross-sector networking circles and advocacy groups, contributing to regional dialogues on the needs of girls and building institutional partnerships

Skills and Qualification

- edMinimum 5+ years of development experience, with at least 4 years focused on institutional giving and managing a high-volume portfoli
- o.Minimum 1 year of experience managing a Major Gifts portfoli
- o.Presenting with ease and enjoyment in small-large group settings and building relationshi
- psAdvanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM/fundraising database system
