Purpose Of Position
The purpose of the Human Resource Generalist is to provide comprehensive administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function within Field Services. This role ensures accuracy and consistency in HR processes by maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding and benefits administration, monitoring compliance requirements, and supporting other HR activities. The HR Generalist also serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, delivering timely and reliable HR services.

Purpose Of Position
The purpose of the Human Resource Generalist is to provide comprehensive administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function within Field Services. This role ensures accuracy and consistency in HR processes by maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding and benefits administration, monitoring compliance requirements, and supporting other HR activities. The HR Generalist also serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, delivering timely and reliable HR services.
Supervision of Personnel
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Deliver accurate and timely HR services to employees, managers, and other stakeholders in assigned departments.
- Prepare and process routine HR transactions such as new hire forms, onboarding checklists, and employee status changes.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Maintain HR records in HRIS and related systems, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Support the administration of performance management processes by tracking documentation and ensuring timely completion.
- Assist with compliance requirements including safety certifications, MVR checks, training records, and coordination of site badging processes.
- Track and monitor performance reviews, contractor new hire starts, conversion dates, and terminations to ensure accurate reporting and timely follow-up.
- Assist in documenting employee relations matters and coordinate with the HR Business Partner on disciplinary actions and investigations.
- Assist with new hire processes by supporting first-day logistics, completing I-9 verifications, and entering status changes in ADP and UKG for timekeeping.
- Generate reports and track HR metrics to support workforce data analysis.
- Participate in HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives, surveys, or policy updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Attention to Detail: Accurately maintains employee records, compliance documentation, and system data.
- Organization & Time Management: Prioritizes multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining quality and timeliness.
- Communication: Effectively communicates with employees, managers, and HR team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Confidentiality: Handles sensitive employee and business information with discretion and professionalism.
- Customer Service Orientation: Provides responsive and supportive service to employees and managers at all levels.
- Problem Solving: Identifies routine issues and applies practical solutions, escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing HR processes, business needs, and site requirements
- Collaboration: Works effectively with HR team members, site leadership, and managers to support shared goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role.
- Familiarity with HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-site or field-based operations preferred.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and able to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems (UKG preferred).
- Activities: Sitting – 85% Walking/Standing – 15%
- Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 10lbs.
- Vision: Long periods of close work on computer screen.
- Travel: Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required to IEM manufacturing facilities, regional field offices and vendor sites. Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Environment: Work duties will be performed primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel to field/site locations as needed
- The position is an-site role at our new Ashburn, Virginia location, this role may have up to 10% travel required to IEM facilities, training or conferences. CA residents are not eligible at this time.
