Position Summary

Are you passionate about growing and celebrating the game of basketball? Are you a past member of the NBA HBCU Fellowship? Are you interested in gaining more exposure to basketball leaders and professionals through live events? If so…this is the program for you! The NBA has an ongoing commitment to HBCUs with a focus on creating greater economic advancement for students and alumni while spotlighting the rich traditions and sports culture of the HBCU community. NBA All-Star Weekend is a time to celebrate this HBCU commitment and the HBCU Event Intern program is an opportunity to provide hands-on experience and professional development for HBCU students at the NBA’s largest marquee event.

Major Responsibilities

  • Shadow a Manager/Mentor in their chosen field and will gain insight into their daily activities.
  • Meet other key members of the department for additional shadowing opportunities.
  • Take part in various professional development opportunities throughout the week while learning what role their department plays in producing events and programs for All-Star Weekend. Departments that historically host an Event Intern include LP&E, SRPP, Player Development, Content, DTC- Media Ops & Technology, Events, Marketing Partnerships and Creative Services.

Salary Range

Undergraduate: $26/hr

Graduate: $35/hr
