Job Title: Engineer I / Jr. Project Manager (Mechanical Discipline)
Job Description
This position involves assisting in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. As an Engineer in the design group, you will act as a Project Manager to contribute to various assignments related to gas storage or fueling stations, design components, and pipeline product functionality.
Responsibilities
The work environment includes 5 design divisions, each with 8 engineers, 3 new business coordinators, and 2 design techs. Engineers cover specific pipeline territories, spending 70% of their time in the office and 30% in the field. The culture values engineering, with 80% of upper management having engineering backgrounds. The position requires communication with 10 different departments, including vendors, internal departments, and field construction teams. Candidates must be local to ATL, with flexible working hours starting between 7-9 AM, working 8 hours a day, 4 days a week in the office, and 1 day remote. The office is located in Midtown, connected to the MARTA station, making it easily commutable. Benefits include 2 weeks of PTO, and 9 paid holidays.

- Participate in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components, including maintenance.
- Perform system balances to identify system low points and develop effective solutions.
- Provide oversight and support for construction activities.
- 1+ year of professional engineering experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil).
- Experience in project management, design, AutoCAD, pipeline design, utility design, mechanical design, and linear projects.
- Experience working in MicroStation is a plus.
- Ability to run stakeholder meetings with high-level leadership.
- EIT certification is a plus.
