Software Developer (WordPress)

Our client is looking to add a WordPress Engineer to their team. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites and custom features. This role focuses on building custom themes and plugins, optimizing performance, and supporting cross-functional teams with modern development practices.

Key Responsibilitie

• sDevelop, customize, and maintain WordPress sites, themes, and plugins
• .Work within WP Engine for staging, deployments, and performance optimization
• .Build responsive, accessible, SEO-friendly front-end interfaces using HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript
• .Integrate third-party APIs and develop custom plugin functionality
• .Collaborate with design, marketing, and development teams
• .Monitor site health, perform updates, and troubleshoot technical issues
• .Use Git for version control and support a collaborative deployment workflow
• .Apply WordPress security best practices and maintain documentation

Skills & Qualificatio

• nsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fiel
• d.3+ years of professional WordPress development experienc
• e.Experience with WP Engine preferre
• d.WordPress-related certifications are a plu
• s.Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+
• ).Familiarity with REST APIs and headless WordPress (preferred
• ).Strong experience building custom WordPress themes and plugin
• s.Understanding of SEO and WCAG accessibility standard
• s.Experience with Git, WP-CLI, Composer, and modern development workflow
