Mechanical Engineer
Brief Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join New Tech Machinery.
Lead the design and development of cutting-edge NTM products, including innovative portable roll-forming machines and game-changing solutions in the industry. Take ownership of highly complex projects from concept to completion—organizing, designing, and executing every detail to ensure the successful implementation and continuous improvement of NTM products. This role will be 50% hands-on and 50% in front of the computer.
Requirements
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is also usually required, but in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.

Requirements
- Responsible for all aspects of the project including:
- Project management
- Engineering and design
- Correctness and accuracy of designs and production drawings
- Functionality of equipment
- Compliance with Company standards and specifications
- Creation and processing of all engineering documents (drawings, bill of material, releases, engineering change notices, engineering change requests, etc.)
- Responsible for meeting engineering schedule
- Directly responsible for debugging, testing, and documenting prototype equipment and tooling
- Support manufacturing with manufacturing, assembly, and testing questions
- Engineering and design of new products
- Analysis of technical requirements
- Perform engineering calculations, e.g., size machine drives, frame deflection, etc.
- Complete calculation and design of progressive rollforming tooling
- Design using standard machine components whenever possible
- Coordinate engineering changes with production control, supply chain and manufacturing
- Evaluate the suitability of alternately sourced components
- Attend trade shows in order to gain industry knowledge, as well as represent the Company to potential customers
- Evaluate the designs of the other engineering team members and provide constructive feedback
- Other duties as assigned

Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer in component / machine design is required
- Willingness to learn and share best practices is required
- 3D CAD experience is essential (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Experienced with FEA solvers such as Ansys, LS-Dyna, Nastran, etc.
- Prior roll forming experience is extremely beneficial
- Excellent mechanical engineering analysis skills and overall computer literacy is required
- Working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles is critical
- Knowledge of steel and aluminum fabrication practices and material properties is desired
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
- Should have a demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is desired
- Must have a quality driven mindset (first article inspection, root cause analysis, process flow, etc.)
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to complete multiple tasks
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
