The intern will report to the Manager, Public Relations

What You Will Do
As a Public Relations Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Support consumer and travel trade PR efforts that build awareness of new and existing guest experiences at the Disneyland Resort, intending to drive visitation.
- Assist with project management and help sustain various PR reporting and tracking documents, ensuring they are updated. Examples include editorial calendars, project timelines, and status/assignment trackers.
- Draft and fact-check blog stories, pitches, press releases, fact sheets, key messages, and photo captions.
- Support with reviewing, collating, and providing feedback on written and visual content for accurate messaging.
- Tap into your storytelling ability to ideate engaging and timely media assets and story angles.
- Assist publicists in local, national, multicultural, and international media relations with inquiries/requests and media hosting.
- Monitor news landscape, online conversation, and media coverage on an ongoing basis. Develop media coverage reports and event recaps.
- Work with different lines of businesses, such as park and resort operations, entertainment, food & beverage, and merchandise.
- Collaborate with other communications teams like Public Affairs, Marketing Strategy, and Digital Strategy.
- Assist in maintaining the Disneyland Resort media resource site, DisneylandNews.com, as needed.
- Support a wide variety of media visits, familiarization tours, press events, and video/photo shoots.
- Manage PR amenity inventory.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal expression.
- Familiarity with both Associated Press and SEO writing styles.
- Previous internship/experience working in Public Relations, Journalism, or Communications.
- Experience writing/editing press releases or reporting for a student or professional news outlet.
- Ability to engage with diverse media; provide assets (photos/videos), pitch stories, and host media at special events.
- Close awareness and attention to media conversation, industry landscape, and pop culture trends.
- Experience in creating copy and/or content for digital/social media.
- Familiarity with a hybrid work schedule in a corporate environment.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including early mornings and evenings.
- Computer proficiency within a Windows or MAC environment (both preferred).
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote or other presentation software.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and sharp attention to detail.
- Adept at adhering to tight deadlines and working independently with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Shown understanding of Disney property and products (with emphasis on the Disneyland Resort).
- Media-tracking systems (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack).
- Project management tools and software (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet).
- Experience in graphic design, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Exposure to the creative process for photography and video.
- Experience in analyzing media coverage and developing summary reports.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.
- Junior or Senior preferred
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Media Relations, or a related major.

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the requirements below
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 through June 2026.
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time Zone for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Anaheim, California, area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
