• Operates yard tractor safely to remove loaded trailers from the docks and stage empty
  
  

trailers by priority in the appropriate door.

• Coordinates with the warehouse team to manage the trailer pool effectively in accordance
  
  

with the dock schedule.

• Greets and provides direction to incoming carriers; gives dock assignments.
• Conducts frequent yard checks; proactively monitors and communicates trailer pool status.
• Ensures utmost accuracy of BOL paperwork and trailer seals.
• Enforces yard safety guidelines with carriers; provides yard safety suggestions.
• Properly pre-trips and inspects each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards.
• Performs pre/post trip tractor checklists; keep equipment clean.
• Correctly positions trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor.
• Switches trailers as needed during the daily sort.
• Hooks up sets of trailers for line hauls leaving the facility.
• Cleary communicates all trailer moves and trailer numbers with operations management.
• Maintains yard cleanliness.
• Maintains forklift certification to assist with warehouse functions when necessary.
• Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and
  
  

procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program

• Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
• Performs all duties I conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by General Manager or the customer.

Skills & Abilities

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Experience: One (1) to two (2)s year related experience in warehouse environment.
• Computer Skills: Basic scanner technology.
• Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver’s License; Forklift Certification preferred.
