Job Summary

The Director of Project Services – Field Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational execution of BearCom’s service project portfolio. This includes managing a team of project managers across North America to ensure the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects in the areas of two-way radio (LMR), distributed antenna systems (DAS), bi-directional amplifiers (BDA), wireless data networks and integrated security technologies. This role will drive consistency, scalability, a nd excellence in project execution across BearCom’s international footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the Project Services – Field Operations function to support enterprise-wide projects in two-way radio, DAS/BDA, wireless networks, and physical security systems.
  • Define and implement project governance, standards, and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) to ensure consistent execution.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects—from kickoff and engineering to system deployment, testing, customer training, and closeout.
  • Partner with Field Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Service teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in scope.
  • Track key metrics including project profitability, timeline adherence, regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, NFPA, CJIS), and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage risk and scope across multiple parallel deployments with attention to mission-critical systems in regulated environments.
  • Deliver executive reporting and portfolio-level insights to senior leadership, including resource planning, backlog forecasting, and delivery trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all phases of the project lifecycle, leveraging lessons learned, automation, and process refinement.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers and Coordinators across BearCom’s regional service hubs.
  • Support pre-sales solutioning and contract scoping for complex opportunities, ensuring operational readiness and delivery alignment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Project Management, or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex technical projects, including at least 5+ years in leadership, and 1-2 years PMO experience.
  • Industry experience in wireless communications, P25/DMR LMR (e.g., Motorola, Kenwood) , BDA/DAS (e.g., Comba, ADRF), or integrated security (e.g., HID, Milestone, Avigilon, Lenel).
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, $1 million plus, deployments for public safety, healthcare, transportation, utilities, or education sectors involving P25, CapMax, DAS BDA, and other leading technologies.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred; additional technical certifications (e.g., R56, iBwave, CWNP) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and engage with customers and executives.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA 1225, FCC Part 90, UL2524).

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 40% travel to support project delivery teams, customer engagements, and executive meetings.
  • Passport required
  • Accessibility to enter Canada and other international locations to support operational needs.
