Position Summary
The IT Specialist serves as the bridge between the health center end-users and its Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for both IT and Printing Services. This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication, timely resolution of technical issues, and effective management of onsite IT needs. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, customer-focused, and capable of resolving basic IT issues while coordinating with our vendor for more complex tasks.

- Build and maintain effective vendor relationships, identifying innovative solutions that support team objectives.
- Act as the primary onsite liaison between the health center and MSP.
- Assist the MSP with basic troubleshooting and resolution of tickets that would otherwise be escalated.
- Manage and support mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.), including provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Provide Tier 1 support for helpdesk tickets submitted by staff, escalating as needed.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and assist with provisioning and decommissioning of hardware.
- Support end-user training and onboarding for IT systems and devices.
- Monitor and report on recurring IT issues to help identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Interact with end users to diagnose IT problems and implement solutions.
- Document IT problems and evaluate the effectiveness of problem resolution.
- Work with the vendor and other sources of information to find the solution to a user’s question or problem as needed.
- Manages and optimizes the health center’s entire print environment, including printing, scanning, copying, supplies, and maintenance in collaboration with MSPs.
- Provide responsive, hands-on support to staff for hardware, software, peripherals connectivity, and system issues.
- Assist with processes that revolve around the set up and maintenance of laptops, desktops, and IT peripherals; ensure new hires are equipped and onboarded efficiently.
- Troubleshoot network, VPN, and Wi-Fi connectivity challenges.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve IT issues that hinder productivity or efficiency.
- Maintain consistent onboarding and offboarding procedures to secure company data and access control.
- Perform special assignments and additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-4 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration.
- Strong understanding of desktop and mobile device management.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, and foundational networking
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare IT compliance standards.
- Experience working with third-party IT vendors or MSPs.
- Basic networking knowledge (e.g., IP addressing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
- Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis.
