Job Overview

Jeffrey Davis Portable Welding Fabrication LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to join our office and administrative team. This full-time hybrid role is ideal for an early-career professional with a solid understanding of job costing, time tracking, and financial workflows. The Comp Controller will support project success by ensuring accurate labor tracking, job costing, and reporting across our growing portfolio of commercial welding projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, compile, and report employee hours for payroll, job costing, and budget tracking.
  • Work closely with project managers to track time and materials accurately to each job.
  • Maintain and update job costing data within internal systems.
  • Assist with timecard reconciliation and ensure all labor data is properly allocated.
  • Generate weekly labor reports for project and operations leadership.
  • Support billing, invoicing, and performance tracking workflows.
  • Collaborate with field and office teams to streamline administrative processes.
  • Maintain organized digital records and support audits or financial reviews as needed.
  • Identify discrepancies in data and assist in resolving financial reporting issues.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 3 years of experience in administrative, accounting, payroll, or job costing roles.
  • Associate degree in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Strong Excel and data entry skills; familiarity with timekeeping or job cost software is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills-must be able to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet weekly deadlines.
  • Open to entry-level candidates with strong administrative aptitude and willingness to learn.
