Location

This position is remote (Within the US); remote but limited travel will be required for meetings, and onsite events.

Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm EST

Salary

Range $90,000.00-$110,000.00/Annually

Overview

The Medical Review Manager is responsible for overing the accuracy, efficiency and compliance of all clinical coding and documentation process related to Occupational Healthcare services provided by Mobile Health. This position manages the clinical coding team and ensures that all procedures, services and patient encounters are coded in accordance with established regulations and internal standards.

Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Medical Review Manager provides leadership, guidance, and structure to the team, ensuring consistent practices across the department. This role collaborates with clinical staff, compliance, and operations teams to support high quality documentation, streamline workflows, and implement best practices. The Medical Review Manager plays a key role in optimizing operational performance, maintains regulatory compliance and supporting Mobile Health’s mission to deliver accurate and reliable occupational healthcare services nationwide.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Experience & Education

  • Manage clinical documentation team
  • Manage the end-to-end process of chart review to ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records.
  • Monitor the Evaluation Queue for exams awaiting review, prioritizing tasks to meet service and compliance standards.
  • Review exams in the Evaluation Queue for completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Review document details for scanned medical documentation to assist with closing the exam.
  • Examine details of scanned medical documentation to verify and finalize exam records.
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to resolve incomplete or inaccurate medical documentation, ensuring charts meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Edit exam results based on supporting documentation, maintaining the integrity of patient records.
  • Monitor and process emails from the Medical Review Officer (MRO), making updates to drug screen results as necessary.
  • Contact the MRO for pending drug screen determinations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding results.
  • Select and apply appropriate standardized remarks in the disposition section of the Final Medical Report.
  • Send Yellow and Red Code alerts to Agencies.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service or LabCorp to obtain missing laboratory results, ensuring completeness of patient records.
  • Retrieve lab reports from online platforms (e.g., Link) as needed to support exam finalization.
  • Process Amended Medical Report exams as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison with Customer Service Representatives or Account Managers to address agency questions, concerns, or special requests.
  • Close exams upon request from Customer Service or Account Managers, maintaining workflow efficiency.
  • Assist with review of Respirator Fit Testing Medical Evaluation questionnaires as needed.
  • Monitor chest X-ray results from radiologists and accurately document findings in patients’ charts.
  • Contact patients directly with abnormal or critical results, providing clear communication and appropriate next steps.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse of Higher-level nursing credential required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Occupational Health or Employee Health setting.
  • Must hold Medical Review Officer Assistant (MROA) certification or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related software applications.
