About the Job
As a UI/UX Designer on our Product team, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of novel brain-computer interface (BCI) applications. We are looking for candidates with experience in intuitive interface design, design systems, and human-centered design who are excited to bring their skills to a mission-driven environment. You will get to invent, iterate, and implement novel designs in a field that are still being defined. You will help build something no one has built before, designing experiences that enable new forms of interaction and unlocking greater independence for users.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $120K-$160K depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity grants subject to board approval and company policy.

Job Responsibilities
- Design elegant, intuitive interfaces for Synchron's groundbreaking brain-computer interface (BCI) platform, empowering users with limited mobility
- Create wireframes, user flows, and visual interface designs for polished UI that scale across devices and contexts
- Contribute to a cohesive cross-platform design system that supports both rapid prototyping and long-term product evolution
- Partner with R&D and clinical teams as a key member of the product team to bring your designs to life in real-world applications
- Champion accessibility, designing experiences that are inclusive, empowering, and compliant with WCAG and other standards
- Use Figma to drive the full design process, from exploration to final assets and documentation
- Participate in user research and feedback loops to continuously refine and elevate the user experience
- Help define the visual and interaction language for novel input methods and interaction paradigms
- Occasionally support broader design needs across the company, such as, but not limited to, presentation decks or marketing materials
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of professional experience in UI design for web, mobile, or embedded applications.
- Proficiency in Figma for delivering complete design experiences.
- Strong portfolio showcasing clean, intuitive interfaces and thoughtful interaction design.
- Understanding and experience with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles.
- Background in game design, habit-forming applications, health or fitness applications.
- Understanding of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508, and their application to interfaces designed for users with limited mobility or motor control. Familiarity with ADA compliance is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Apple product ecosystem, including Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Apple's accessibility standards.
