Materials Engineer

Job Description:

Responsible for sample preparation, test and validation of polymer materials. Conduct material characterization and provide polymer materials modelling inputs for virtual analyses (CAE, Durability and other Multiphysics simulations)

Work in conjunction with engineering and product development teams

B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Sciences or Engineering is preferred

2+ years practical experience directly related to Automotive plastics and composites formulation and processing is preferred

Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment

Very organized and detail oriented in documentation, report writing, and data cross functional data management

Exceptional communication skills.

• Sample Preparation: Prepare polymer and composite samples for testing, including cutting, polishing, and mounting.
• Material Testing: Conduct various mechanical and thermal tests on materials using specialized lab equipment.
• Equipment Management: Operate and help maintain specialized laboratory instruments.
• Data & Documentation: Accurately document all test results to support the materials database.
• Engineering Support: Assist senior engineers with their R&D projects and experiments.
• Lab Maintenance: Ensure the laboratory is kept safe, organized, and well maintained.
