About the Job
The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answering questions, and providing guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer their personal time to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.

Be A Mentor is looking for caring, trusted adults to mentor the youth in our community.
Young people are more at risk of dropping out of high school, drug use, entering the juvenile justice system now more than ever and we need your help to make a positive change in their lives.
Mentors provide support and advocacy in many capacities from our youth - if you have the passion to walk with our youth towards success, SIGN UP TODAY!
This is an IN PERSON mentoring opportunity and you could be matched with a youth anywhere near Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond, etc.
IN PERSON mentoring requires mentors to spend at least 2 hours a week with their mentee. This can include any range of activities that suit you and your mentee. For example homework help, outdoor play, museum visits, crafts, etc.
