Description
As Corporate Counsel at Midland Scientific, you will provide strategic legal guidance across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including supply chain operations, supplier and customer contracts, compliance, logistics, data and security, and employment matters—to develop and implement scalable legal frameworks that support MSI’s business objectives and mitigate risk. A strong understanding of distribution and logistics operations, combined with sound legal judgment and a practical, business-oriented approach, is essential for success in this fast-paced environment. This role will be a key advisor to Owners, Board of Directors, and senior management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while supporting strategic corporate initiatives.
This leadership role will also be the Branch Manager for our Davenport facility. The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall management of the branch facility. This role ensures that the property is well-maintained, tenants’ needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner, and branch operations run smoothly. The Branch Manager will coordinate and manage facility upkeep, tenant relations, and staff or contractor activities while ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
Requirements
Education: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials.
Experience: 3+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer either in private practice or with a corporate legal department. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa and Nebraska. Industry background in warehouse and distribution is a plus.
