The Role: Senior Accountant
As our Senior Accountant, you will ensure the financial integrity of our organization by overseeing accurate recordkeeping, compliance, and reporting - especially across our global operations. Your expertise in international financial systems will help us sustain growth, build trust, and extend our impact to communities around the world.
Conditions - Location: Remote; Commitment: Part-time (volunteer, pro-bono); Contribution Requirements: Minimum 5-15 hours a week; minimum 6 months.

As part of our funding team at Solution Community, Inc, a startup nonprofit with global ambitions, you will help build a strong, mission-aligned financial foundation from the ground up- working directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and playing a key role in shaling our financial strategy and systems.

What Will You Do?
As part of our funding team at Solution Community, Inc, a startup nonprofit with global ambitions, you will help build a strong, mission-aligned financial foundation from the ground up- working directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and playing a key role in shaling our financial strategy and systems.
- Establish Global Financial Integrity: Set up and maintain accurate, timely financial records across multiple countries and currencies, ensuring compliance with both US 501(c)(3) requirements and international nonprofit standards.
- Lead Core Reporting Functions: Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership, donors, and regulatory bodies - laying the groundwork for financial transparency and trust.
- Support Global Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with regional and program leads to create and manage dynamic budgets that account for real-time currency fluctuations and compliance needs.
- Oversee Early-Stage Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to IRS 501(c)(3) regulations and support global registrations, audits, and cross-border tax filings as we grow.
- Build Systems and Internal Controls: Assist in the selection, configuration, and implementation of accounting software and internal control systems suitable for a fast-evolving, multi-regional nonprofit environment.
- Contribute to Finance Department Strategy: Work closely with the CFO to co-develop the finance department's roadmap, goals, and procedures as we scale operations and grow the team.
- Mentor and Mobilize Volunteer Finance Team: Recruit, lead, and support finance volunteers across different time zones and cultural contexts - building a collaborative and mission-driven financial culture.
- Collaborate Strategically with Leadership: Partner directly with our executive team to embed financial insights and systems into organizational planning and decision-making from day one.
- Experienced Global Accountants: You bring at least 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience, with a strong background in international finance, multi-currency accounting, and nonprofit compliance across jurisdictions. Experience implementing nonprofit accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Aplos, and NetSuite essential. Expertise with ClickUp for task and workflow management is a plus. CPA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent credentials are preferred.

- Analytical Problem-Solvers: You anticipate risks, streamline processes, and adapt with ease in a dynamic, multicultural environment. You are also an advances Excel user, capable of building models, automating reports, and uncovering insights from complex datasets.
